What You Should Know About Aging Cat Care

Aging Cat Care

Aging cat care is actually pretty simple. However, you should be sure that your older cats get the love and care that they need. Regular check ups are important to make sure that your cat is aging and growing older in a healthy way. There are some things that should be checked on a regular basis to ensure that your older is as healthy as possible.

Aging Cat Eyes

If you have an older cat, you may have noticed some changes in your cat’s eye sight. Cats will start to lose some of their eye sight as they get older just as people do. The next time you visit your vet, be sure that your cats eyes are checked. If your cat is losing eye sight because of old age, there really is nothing that you can do about it other than continue to give him the love and care that he deserves.

Aging Cat Bones

Believe it or not, having your older cat’s bones checked is not uncommon. Vets will often check them to make sure that they are not brittle or breaking because of old age. Having your feline’s bones checked is just another part of aging cat care.

Aging Cat Teeth

Believe it or not, your aging cat’s teeth are important as well. You and your vet should make sure that your cat has plenty of teeth to eat with. This is a very important part of aging cat care, especially if your cat is still eating hard food. If your cat is losing his teeth, you will need to switch to moist can food that will be easier for him to eat. Your vet should also help you keep an eye on your cats teeth.
